This was an awesome, awesome open-mic event. The Lizard Lounge was celebrating it's 100th open mic event with a massive, all-out musical bash - they had a house band of incredibly talented musicians at the disposal of each performer, so I took the opportunity to play with Tom, a great bassist and the MC of the whole event.

This show was absolutely amazing. We started out with a very mystical intro to Search and the show just built on that solid foundation - we all had an amazing time and the crowd loved it.

This show was, for some reason, one of the scariest I've done in a while! It's something about playing during the daytime and knowing that you have class coming up - anyhow, aside from feeling nervous the show went really well. I had Dave on bass the whole time and it added such depth to everything! Woo!

Keynote speech and presentation for the final graduation ceremony of Maxwell International School.
This was an incredibly special time for me as I'd been given the immense honour of being the keynote speaker for the graduating class of '08 - the last graduating class as Maxwell was to close shortly after. I lost my voice the night before but, with the help of many souls, was able to crack out a rather amusing version of 'Saint' and give my speech.

This was an incredibly strange, random and productive show. I turned up for an open mic session and ended up being the only performer - with no audience to speak of. The manager told me that if I could get people over to listen then I could play, but they'd have to shut down if not.
So I phoned round and mustered the support of 12 friends of mine from Berklee - they were so supportive and it was their presence that convinced the manager to allow me an opening spot for an upcoming show!

This was probably one of the longest solo shows I've ever done! It was a great experience - the first section was played on stage with a sound system - the second, much shorter section, was played with the audience and totally acoustic. It was a great night and I had a wonderful time!

This was a great show - the sound was done so well which made a massive difference, it was longer than three songs and, above all, Rosie and I just had a great time playing. One of the highlights was being asked to play trumpet for the act that followed!

This was a bit of a strange show as Rosie and I were put at the end of the list - so we didn't get on stage until about 11:30pm and having been there since about 8pm I was absolutely shattered - at one point I nearly fell asleep!
I played Regret for the first time publicly, then had a great time playing 'Give', one of Rosie's songs. The last song was meant to be 'It's All Easy' but just as we were about to start someone yelled out "November Motorway!" - so I knew what to do :)

The weirdest show - I played at the Christmas fair in my home town where everyone thinks I'm from North America and I spend 90% of my time trying to convince them otherwise! So, I played a few songs to a very dispersed and disinterested crowd but there were a few people enjoying it and I had a good time so I'm glad at least a few people enjoyed the tunes :)

Note to self: Become more well known in the town you are actually from.
